Public speaking can be challenging, even for experienced speakers. Capturing the crowd, while sticking to the script, is no easy task. But Even G1 Teleprompt is changing the conversation. Even with your script scrolling right before your eyes, we have some tools and tips to help you better connect with your audience. From speech rates by scenario to script types and more, you can find the presentation style that gets you that thundering applause.
Perfect your eye contact.

How you look at your audience influences how they view you. Aim your gaze at the upper third of the camera lens to create the most engaging form of eye contact possible. Focusing your eyes on this area of the lens feels more natural, while ensuring direct eye contact with your viewers. Maintaining a slight upward glance not only makes your eyes appear brighter and more open, but it directly aligns with our eyebox of display.
While eye contact is crucial for any speech or presentation, one common pitfall is "the stare". Be careful not to fixate on the lens to the point of a hard stare. One easy way to avoid this is by periodically making natural, brief glances away - just as you would in any conversation. As for the best scrolling mode, we recommend using Teleprompt AI scrolling text.
Speech rate by scenario.
Different scenarios often call for different speaking speeds. While speaking speed is subjective and dependent on factors like audience and preference, we have you covered with some general guidelines. You can also practice speech rate with Auto mode by setting it to a certain speed.
Presentations & Keynote speeches.
Whether you're doing a conference or TED Talk, 120-160 wpm is ideal for formal presentations. This range allows the audience some time to process information, especially when it's complex. Varying your pace can help you emphasize key points. We recommend slowing down for crucial points and speeding up a bit for the rest.
Social Media videos.
Because social media content usually demands a faster pace to keep the viewer engaged, we recommend speaking at a range of 150-200+ wpm. Since this is a higher speed, clarity and enunciation are essential. Of course, speaking speed is also dependent on the type of content you're putting out.
Hosting and podcasting.
If you're a TV host, reporter, or podcaster, you should speak at a range of 140-170 wpm. These speaking formats require a balance of clarity and efficiency. Reporters tend to speak at a slightly faster pace to deliver information quickly, while TV hosts often vary their speed depending on the format and segment. For example, a sports broadcaster may speak faster than a news anchor.
Find your preferred script type.

Teleprompt is ideal for word-for-word scripts and bullet-point scripts or outlines. Simply import or type your script (PDF, Word, TXT) into the Even Realities App. With no character limit, you can input as much text as you like.
For word-for-word scripts, we recommend using the AI mode of scrolling text. Teleprompt adapts to your speaking pace, adjusting the scrolling speed accordingly. Your script will continue to scroll smoothly, uninterrupted by any form of crowd noise. These script formats are perfect for formal speeches or legal presentations. They ensure you precisely cover every point, making them particularly useful for highly technical or sensitive topics.
On the other hand, bullet-point scripts or outlines also have their share of benefits. It's easy to create and speak from bulleted or numbered lists using QuickNote. HeadUp to view your list or set your HeadUp angle to zero, and you'll see your notes directly in front of you.
Loose scripts like these work for most presentations, but are best suited for informal talks and situations where there's audience interaction. They promote a more conversational speaking dynamic, allowing for flexibility, improvisation, and a natural delivery.
