  • Just got them, ring came with them! Loving the utility of them so far. Worth the wait!...It may not be important information, but it worked perfectly fine even at −10°C.

  • Had the G2 for 20 days and the R1 for 10 days. The glasses were useful before the ring arrived, mostly with alerts, weather, and calendar. After the ring arrived, the items requiring added control usage became more useful/less awkward.
I spend a lot of my "waiting" time scrolling through the news, and use Teleprompt to read texts of articles or book chapters I upload to the Even app. I use Conversate (now that I can more subtly start it) to help out one-on-one discussions in noisy environments like restaurants, during doctor's appointments to capture all the findings/instructions, and while one business/family Zoom calls. I haven't used the Translate app very much except to test it.
I've seen several bugs fixed with the last patch and look forward to more solutions to other bugs in their software. The addition of third party apps after March should make the G2/R1 combo even more useful if not indispensable.

  • There are honestly INSANE, after the reviews I read online about the Even AI i thought it would be stupid, but it even does mathematical questions correctly, like calculating simple integrals or functions.

  • Finally got it today from retail. Looks good, feels good, works flawlessly so far. The ring will definitely make it more comfortable to use, but that delivery is at the end of next week, I hope.

  • It's been about 3 weeks now. I've never worn glasses before, so it's taken a lot to get used to that part of it. I have excellent vision and so having to look through glass and blocking some of my peripheral is annoying at times, not to mention the glare. (Sorry Rx ppl out there!)
The functions are good but I feel I still need to filter out some of the notifications because I'm bombarded constantly so I'm still playing with the options. The AI stuff is very good, conversate, translate and quick notes are the most useful and the most powerful. Stocks and calendar are good and the news is hit or miss...
The ring is great but it's incredibly annoying when it unintentional activates... We definitely need some calibration improvements and also a quick way to deactivate/reactivate the ring touch sensors on demand.
I'm keeping them because I'm incredibly optimistic about future improvements and the even hub. For now, I'll use them about 30 to 50 percent of the time or when my gf requests I wear them because they look good on me ;)

  • Yeahh that’s why I’m glad Even opened up development. Cuz we only get this with a combo of a company willing to take on the initial risk of hardware R&D and the open source creativity of a community.

  • My purchase experiences with G1 and G2.
My experiences with Even Realities has been interesting and different. First, I purchased my G1s from Eyechic in New Jersey in the US. Not direct from Even Realities. I’ve had no contact with ER directly. And I did, surprisingly, have some issues with my prescription. Which was frustrating because I had spent nearly $1600 on them. I have a very challenging prescription and I’ve had similar issues with other companies as well.
But the game changer was definitely Eyechic. They handled the entire situation for me with ER. The staff at Eyechic were amazing to work with. And over the last year we’ve been working together on a first name basis. They have solved the issue I had with my prescription. And now I have just received my G2s and R1.
While I have had to wait a bit to receive anything I order from ER. Eyechic had consistently given me accurate estimates of when I will receive my glasses. Both sets showed up a bit earlier than I was told.
And I don’t believe my glasses cost anymore ordering them through Eyechic than if I had ordered them direct.
All this to say that buying direct may have its advantages. But using a company like Eyechic can really be a game changer.
My G2’s are working well. My primary use case for them is to get silent notifications. Everything beyond that is bonus. As I learned with the G1s, it takes a while to shake out the bugs and get everything where it needs to be. But I’ve found ER managed to get it done pretty quickly.
I’m happy with my purchase, Even Realities and especially Eyechic.

  • I was wearing my G2's today (as I do everyday) and stopped in to SpecSavers to order a new set of readers. I asked if they could do lenses for smart glasses and then said, "These are smart glasses." She looked confused. So, I showed her. Here's a bit of our conversation. She was more than impressed!

  • Initial impressions:
Had to do an update and then a factory reset before I could use them.
Lighter or at least better weight distribution than the G1.
Display is bigger and more "crisp"
Easy to navigate the UI with the temple touchpads but I look forward to use the ring instead once it arrives. Now I just have to find the best ring size for my finger. Leaning towards size 11, 12 or 13. 11 is a little bit to snug and its winter time in Sweden so my fingers will be a little thicker in the summer wich would make it super tight. 13 is a bit to loose and I can shake it of if I really try. 12 is probably the best size but I'll give it some days before I decide on final size.
They feel more responsive/faster than the G1.
This is just from using them for like 10 minutes. Will probably give a longer review once I get the ring and used them for a while.

  • The ring is actually epic. I can't believe how well it is built, and it is stylish and slim.

  • Hi, I got today a new version. It seems to be working fine. I am so impressed how fast new versions are coming. Big thanks for the development team.

    mementomori7104

  • Week and a half, I like the glosses, the notifications is my favorite (and why I am keeping my G1Bs to)
The temples aren't as long as I'd like, and I really want my R1 for better control, but I do think the glasses are amazing.

  • I live in Japan
I am not particularly good at Japanese
And the translate feature works just fine for me
It was fast, responsive and somewhat accurate
Could use a little bit of improvement but it is still a very useful feature.

  • I totally understand your point here, but try and think of it from a use case perspective. The G2’s have such a good battery life that they already last a couple days (along with the ring) without charging. So if you are on vacation for example the only travelling you are doing with them is in your room overnight to charge / store them, or in your backpack with other belongings. In your case, you’d be getting prescription (I assume?) so you would only be charging them overnight - in which case you’ll hardly have to bring the case anywhere anyway. Plus you can always not bother taking the case if it’s a big deal for travelling, they are just normal prescription glasses at that point - and look normal too!
